Tipngoal: What is your take on substituting your best defender at half-time? Coach Sunday: The decision cost my team a huge loss, but it was the right thing to do because the player was sick. As a coach, the health of my players must come first, even when the team is in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, the substitution affected us, and the final result was not what we wanted. 2. TipNGoal: what's your take on motivating the players and changing the team’s performance? Coach Sunday: I am the head coach of this team, and I know what my players are capable of. They also know what I can do as their coach. I never wanted to interfere from the touchline, but this was a derby match, so I had to step in. I encouraged them to push forward and reminded them to attack. That was important in helping the team find an equaliser. 3. TipNGoal: How did the assistant coach influence this game? Coach Sunday: My assistant coach did very well, and I must give him credit for his contribution. His influence on the team continues to grow, and the players are happy with him. However, the opposing coach was tactically smart and managed to counter some of his decisions. Overall, I appreciate the work of my assistant and the entire technical crew. 4. TipNGoal: What do you think are the reasons behind the defeat? Coach Sunday: Individual errors cost us the game. We were in a good position, but mistakes at crucial moments allowed Runners FC to take advantage and win the match. In football, you must remain focused throughout the game because even one mistake can change the result. 5. TipNGoal: Would you make the same substitution again come next game or subsequent games? Coach Sunday: In this situation, making that substitution was difficult, especially when we were protecting a narrow lead. However, because the player was sick, his health had to be considered. It was a bad situation to find ourselves in, but sometimes a coach has to make difficult decisions for the good of the player and the team. 6. TipNGoal: What's your main responsibility now and how well are the team preparing for the next match? Coach Sunday: My responsibility now is to prepare the mindset of the players, encourage them, and make sure they are ready for our next game. We must learn from our mistakes, improve our concentration, and work harder as a team. This defeat is disappointing, but we have to move forward and prepare properly for the next challenge.
