Exclusive Interview with Bash
October 14, 2026
1d agoDLK World Best FA head into Week 4 of the Kubwa Football League still looking for their first win. After two goalless draws, they took the lead against Arewa FC last week but lost 3-1. Coach Bash spoke to TipNGoal ahead of the trip to Hjunt FC about the lessons from that defeat, his team’s defensive fixes and why he believes Saturday can bring that first victory.
QUESTIONS FOR COACH BASH
1. Tipngoal: Coach Bash, how is your team’s injury situation ahead of this important encounter against Hjunt FC? Will your key players be available?
Coach Bash: Thank you. The injury situation is much better now. We had two knocks after the Arewa game, but everyone has recovered well. My medical team has done a great job. All my key players will be available for selection on Saturday.
2. TipNGoal: Coach, DLK World Best FC started well against Arewa FC last week and scored the opening goal, but your team eventually conceded three goals and lost 3–1. What went wrong after taking the lead?
Coach Bash: Against Arewa FC, we executed our game plan well in the first half and got the goal. But football is about managing moments. After we scored, we dropped too deep and lost control in midfield. We allowed them too much space and we were punished. We have learned from that."
3. Tipngoal: Your goalkeeper kept clean sheets in your first two matches, but Arewa FC broke that record by scoring three goals. What defensive weaknesses did you identify, and what have you done to address them?
Coach Bash: Yes, we kept two clean sheets before that game, so conceding three was painful. We identified the problem - lack of communication between the backline and midfield, and poor marking on second balls. This week in training we have worked heavily on defensive shape, compactness and concentration. We will be much more solid on Saturday.
4. Tipngoal: DLK World Best FC are still without a victory this season. How confident are you that your team can turn its performances into three points against Hjunt FC?
Coach Bash: I am very confident. We are not getting results yet, but the performances are improving every week. The boys are working hard, the spirit in camp is high. We just need to convert our chances and stay focused. I believe Saturday is the day we get our first three points."
5. Tipngoal: Hjunt secured their first victory last week and will be playing at home for the second consecutive match. How do you intend to stop them from building on that momentum?
Coach Bash: Hjunt FC is a good side, and I respect them. Winning at home last week will give them confidence. But we are not going there to respect them too much. We have studied how they play. We will press them high and try to stop their wing play which is their strength. We will spoil their momentum."
6. Tipngoal: Your team showed that it could compete by scoring first, but conceding three goals highlights the importance of maintaining concentration for the full 90 minutes. How will you ensure your players remain organised after taking the lead?
Coach Bash: That is the key lesson from last week. Scoring first is not enough; you must manage the game for 90 minutes. I have spoken to the leaders in the team. We will stay organized, keep talking, and control the tempo even when we are leading. We cannot switch off."
7. Tipngoal: Will you make changes to your starting lineup or tactical approach following the defeat to Arewa FC, particularly in defence?
Coach Bash: Every game requires a different approach. Yes, there will be one or two changes, especially to give us more balance in defence and energy in midfield. But I will not change our identity - we are a team that wants to play attacking football."
8. Tipngoal: Finally, what is your message to DLK supporters who are still waiting for the team’s first victory of the season?
COACH Bash: To our amazing DLK supporters, I want to say thank you for your patience and your belief. We hear you, we feel your support. We know you are waiting for that first win. The boys are ready to fight for the badge on Saturday. Keep believing in us, we will make you proud."
DLK World Best FC showed attacking promise against Arewa FC but must improve defensively after scoring first and conceding three goals.
Can Coach Bash inspire a response and secure DLK’s first win against Hjunt FC?
What it means for the table
DLK World Best FA are ninth with two points from three games and a goal difference of -2. Hjunt FC are sixth with three points and a goal difference of 0, so DLK are only one point behind.
A DLK win would take them to five points, past Hjunt and level with Diamond Stars Sporting Club (5) in the top half. A Hjunt win would lift them to six points and into the top four, leaving DLK on two points and close to the bottom of the table. A draw would leave Hjunt on four points and DLK on three.
Elsewhere in Week 4, leaders Arewa FC (7 points) face third-placed Runners FC (6), and Bonez FC (7) play Uzum FC (4), so the top of the table could change too.
