The Catalan giants successfully defended their Supercopa crown, extending their record haul to 16 titles in the competition’s history.
The match lived up to its billing as one of the season’s most electrifying fixtures. Brazilian winger Raphinha was the star of the show, scoring twice — including the decisive winner in the second half — and setting the tone for Barcelona’s spirited performance. Robert Lewandowski also found the net, while Real Madrid responded through goals from Vinícius Júnior and Gonzalo García, ensuring it remained a riveting contest until the final whistle.
Barcelona looked the more composed side early on, asserting control through a blend of structured possession and incisive attacking play. Despite conceding twice in a frenetic first half which saw several goals in stoppage time, Barca’s resilience shone through as they regained the lead and maintained pressure on Madrid’s defense. The victory marked an important statement under manager Hansi Flick, who has now guided the team to multiple trophies since taking charge, reinforcing their status as one of Spanish football’s elite.
The win also underscored Barcelona’s ongoing rivalry with Real Madrid, with the two clubs consistently contesting major honours across domestic and international competitions. For Real Madrid, the narrow loss was another painful chapter in El Clásico history, coming despite spirited efforts and moments of individual flair. Barcelona’s ability to grind out tight results in high-stakes finals will be a key confidence booster as they look ahead to La Liga and European challenges later this season.
As the Supercopa celebrations continue, Barca fans will be buoyed by a thrilling performance that combined attacking flair with defensive resolve. The victory in Jeddah adds another memorable chapter to the club’s rich legacy and sets an optimistic tone for the months ahead.
