January 3, 2026
280d agoBrighton & Hove Albion returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at the Amex Stadium on January 3, 2026, ending a six-match winless run in the Premier League.
The hosts dominated proceedings, with goals from Georginio Rutter in the 29th minute and Yasin Ayari shortly after halftime securing all three points. Ayari's goal, which came from a poor Burnley error just over a minute into the second half, effectively ended the contest.
The victory had a significant impact on the league table, moving Brighton up to 8th place with 28 points. For Burnley, who remain 19th with just 12 points, the result deepens their relegation worries, leaving them six points from safety and extending their winless run to 11 games.
