The victory handed City another major trophy and further strengthened their dominance in English football.
The game started with Manchester City controlling possession and dictating the tempo from midfield. Chelsea, however, remained compact defensively and looked dangerous on quick counterattacks through Cole Palmer and João Pedro.
City nearly opened the scoring in the first half when Erling Haaland found the back of the net, but the effort was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
Chelsea came out stronger in the second half and began to create more attacking opportunities.
Reece James and Enzo Fernández helped the Blues gain momentum, while Palmer continued to trouble City’s defence with his creativity and movement. Despite Chelsea’s improvement, City stayed patient and waited for the perfect moment to strike.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 71st minute when Bernardo Silva led a fast counterattack before setting up Antoine Semenyo inside the penalty area. The winger produced a brilliant backheel finish that beat Robert Sánchez and sent the Manchester City supporters into celebration.
Chelsea pushed hard for an equaliser late in the game, but City’s defence remained solid under pressure.
As the final whistle blew, Manchester City celebrated another memorable FA Cup triumph, while Chelsea were left disappointed after falling short once again in a major final.
Guardiola’s side demonstrated their winning mentality throughout the contest, proving once more why they remain one of the strongest teams in world football.
