The dominant result at Camp Nou secured an 8–3 aggregate triumph for the Spanish side, comfortably sending them through to the quarter-finals after a 1–1 draw in the first meeting.
The contest started at a lively tempo, with Barcelona opening the scoring early before Newcastle quickly found a response. The visitors showed attacking intent and briefly matched their hosts, with Anthony Elanga playing a key role in keeping them in the game.
However, just before halftime, Barcelona regained the advantage as Lamine Yamal calmly converted from the penalty spot to make it 3–2 at the break.
Barcelona returned from halftime with even greater intensity and control. Fermín López extended their lead soon after the restart, swinging the momentum fully in their favor.
Newcastle, who had competed well in the first half, began to struggle under the constant pressure and movement from the home side.
As the game opened up, Robert Lewandowski took charge, netting twice in quick succession to put the outcome beyond doubt. Barcelona’s attacking play became increasingly fluid, exposing gaps in Newcastle’s defense.
Raphinha later added another goal to complete his brace, rounding off a ruthless attacking performance.
Newcastle did show flashes of quality going forward, with Elanga grabbing two goals and offering a consistent threat. However, their defensive lapses ultimately cost them, as they were unable to contain Barcelona’s relentless attacking force in the second half.
