KUBWA FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2025/2026 WEEK 4 PRE-MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE BONEZ FC vs UZUM FC COACH MANUCHO — UZUM FC Second-placed Bonez FC host fifth-placed Uzum FC in Week 4 of the Kubwa Football League. Uzum have yet to concede in their first two matches, but they have scored only once, and their coach says the attack has to improve. Coach Manucho spoke to TipNGoal about his side’s defensive discipline, the need to be more clinical in front of goal and the chance to climb the table. COACH MANUCHO’S RESPONSES 1. TipNGoal: What’s the update on Uzum FC’s injury situation? Coach Manucho: As we prepare for this important Week 4 encounter against Bonez FC, we are monitoring the fitness of our players closely. Like every team, we may have some fitness concerns, but we remain focused on preparing the squad for the challenge ahead. Our priority is to ensure that every player is fit and ready to give his best. 2. TipNGoal: What’s your take on Uzum FC’s defensive strength? Coach Manucho: I believe the secret behind Uzum FC’s defensive solidity is discipline, teamwork, communication and concentration. We have worked hard on our defensive organisation, and every player understands his responsibility on the pitch. Our clean sheets are not just the achievements of the defenders and goalkeeper; they are the result of the entire team working together, from the forwards to the back line. 3. TipNGoal: What’s the way forward in improving the team’s attacking output? Coach Manucho: Football is not only about scoring goals; it is also about balance, discipline and taking responsibility as a team. We know we must be more clinical, and we are working towards that. We have played two matches, scored one goal and conceded none. That shows we have a solid defensive foundation, but we also know we must improve our attacking efficiency and convert more of our chances. Against Bonez FC, our target is to create more opportunities, make better decisions in the final third and hopefully secure another important victory. 4. TipNGoal: Could a big win help Uzum FC climb the league table? Coach Manucho: Of course, winning by three or four goals would be a big achievement and could strengthen our position, depending on other results. However, we will not put unnecessary pressure on the players by focusing only on the margin of victory. Our first objective is to win the match, execute our game plan and give our best from the first whistle to the last. If the opportunities come, we will do everything possible to take them. We respect Bonez FC, but we are Uzum FC, and we believe in our ability. Our target is three points, and if we can achieve a convincing victory, that will be an added advantage. 5. TipNGoal: Is the team ready to face Bonez FC’s strong defence? Coach Manucho: Our approach will be to remain patient, play with confidence and move the ball quickly to create spaces in their defence. We will work on our attacking movements, improve our decision-making in the final third and take our chances whenever they come. At the same time, we must remain defensively solid and avoid giving them opportunities to hurt us. We know this will not be an easy match, but football is not decided by statistics alone. It is decided by preparation, discipline, teamwork and determination on the day. Our players are motivated, and we believe in our abilities. 6. TipNGoal: What tactical battle do you expect? Coach Manucho: I expect a very competitive encounter because both teams have shown great defensive discipline by keeping clean sheets so far this season. However, our approach will not be based on fear or excessive caution. At Uzum FC, we respect Bonez FC, but we also believe in our own strengths. 7. TipNGoal: What is your take on Uzum FC’s title ambitions? Coach Manucho: With Arewa FC facing Runners FC on Saturday, there could be an opportunity for us to improve our position on the table. However, we are not going to depend on other teams dropping points. Our priority is to focus on our own matches, take every opportunity seriously and fight for all three points whenever we step onto the pitch. We know that our attacking output must improve, and we are working hard to become more effective in front of goal while maintaining our defensive strength. The league is still competitive, so we must remain consistent, disciplined and united. 8. TipNGoal: What’s your final message to Uzum FC supporters? Coach Manucho: My message to all Uzum FC supporters is to continue believing in us, standing with us and giving us your maximum support. We understand how important this encounter against Bonez FC is, and we are fully aware of the quality of the opponent we are facing. Our supporters should expect a determined, disciplined and committed performance from the boys. WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE TABLE Bonez FC are second with seven points from three games and a goal difference of +2. Uzum FC are fifth with four points from two games and a goal difference of +1. A Uzum win would take them to seven points, level with Bonez, and would count as a big result for a side that has yet to concede. A Bonez win would lift them to ten points and leave Uzum on four. A draw would give Bonez eight points and Uzum five, level with Diamond Stars Sporting Club. Coach Manucho also spoke about winning by “three or four goals.” That would lift Uzum’s goal difference to +4 or +5, in line with the best in the league, which could matter if teams finish level on points. He was clear, though, that the first target is simply three points. Coach Manucho has praised Uzum FC’s defensive discipline while admitting the team must be more clinical in attack. With both sides keen to protect their clean-sheet records, this Week 4 match could be decided by who takes their chances first.
