Chelsea Cruise Past Crystal Palace to Strengthen Premier League Top-Four Push

258d agoChelsea delivered a strong performance at Selhurst Park on Sunday, claiming a 3–1 victory over Crystal Palace in their Premier League clash. The Blues opened the scoring just before half-time through young attacker Estêvão, who capitalized on a defensive error and finished confidently to give his side the lead into the break. After the interval, Chelsea continued to control the game and quickly doubled their advantage when João Pedro struck early in the second half. Later on, a penalty awarded via VAR was calmly converted by Enzo Fernández, sealing Chelsea’s three-goal cushion before a late Chris Richards effort offered Palace a consolation.
The match wasn’t without drama. Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton was sent off in the second half after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession, reducing the home side to ten men and making the task of a comeback even harder. Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez also produced a key save earlier in the game to deny Palace a potential opener, keeping the visitors in control
For Chelsea, the result was significant in their push for a top-four spot in the Premier League table, moving them up and keeping pressure on the European qualification places. This win extends their strong run against Palace in recent meetings and continues the momentum under manager Liam Rosenior, who has seen improved results in recent weeks.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, remain in a difficult spell of form, struggling to find consistency and still searching for a win in the league. The defeat compounds the challenges they’ve faced this season, both on the pitch and off it, as they look to halt their winless run in the coming matches
