The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has come to a historic conclusion, with Cameroon lifting the continental crown and several outstanding players receiving individual recognition for their performances throughout the tournament. From Malawi’s prolific forward Temwa Chawinga to Cameroon’s remarkable goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, the tournament produced a number of standout performers. Here is the full list of the awards announced by CAF after the final: 1. Woman of the Competition — Monique Ngock Cameroon midfielder Monique Ngock was named the TotalEnergies Woman of the Competition. Ngock was one of the key figures in Cameroon’s historic title-winning campaign, helping the Indomitable Lionesses navigate a difficult route to their first-ever WAFCON trophy. Her recognition caps a memorable tournament for both the player and her country. 2. Best Goalkeeper — Michaely Bihina Cameroon’s Michaely Bihina was named the Best Goalkeeper of WAFCON 2026. The 22-year-old was instrumental in Cameroon’s run to the title, particularly during their knockout-stage victories. Bihina produced a sensational performance against Morocco in the semi-final, saving a penalty during the match before becoming the hero in the shootout as Cameroon advanced to the final. She also kept a clean sheet against Nigeria in the quarter-final as Cameroon secured a historic 1-0 victory. CAF had already highlighted Bihina's heroics as a major reason behind Cameroon reaching the latter stages of the competition. 3. Golden Boot — Temwa Chawinga Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga finished the tournament as the leading goalscorer, winning the prestigious PUMA Golden Boot after scoring five goals. Chawinga was one of the driving forces behind Malawi’s remarkable run to the final. The Malawian forward consistently troubled opposing defences with her pace, movement and finishing, making her one of the standout attacking players of the tournament. She entered the final already among the leading scorers with five goals and ultimately retained the Golden Boot. 4. Woman of the Match — Ngah Manga Cameroon forward Ngah Manga was named TotalEnergies Woman of the Match in the final after producing a match-winning performance. Manga scored twice in the final, playing a decisive role in Cameroon’s historic triumph and providing the finishing touch to an unforgettable tournament for the Indomitable Lionesses. Her brace ensured that the biggest individual award of the final went to one of Cameroon's key attacking stars. 5. Fair Play Award — Algeria The Fair Play Award went to the Algerian women's national team. Algeria were recognised for their sporting conduct throughout the competition, adding another honour to their WAFCON campaign. Cameroon Dominate the Individual Honours It was fitting that Cameroon collected several of the tournament's biggest individual awards after completing one of the greatest stories in the history of the competition. The Indomitable Lionesses combined defensive resilience, individual brilliance and attacking quality to go all the way and claim their first-ever Women's Africa Cup of Nations title. Meanwhile, Malawi's historic run was also reflected in the Golden Boot, with Temwa Chawinga's five goals earning her one of the tournament's most prestigious individual prizes. A tournament of surprises, history and unforgettable performances — and Cameroon now have the trophy to prove it.
