The match served as part of both teams’ preparations ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, and it was Les Bleus who once again underlined their credentials with a clinical display.
The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when rising star Désiré Doué opened the scoring for France. The young forward showcased composure and sharp attacking instinct, setting the tone for what would become a dominant outing.
France doubled their lead before halftime through Marcus Thuram, who finished off a well-worked attacking move to put Colombia firmly on the back foot.
France continued their control into the second half, and Doué struck again in the 56th minute to complete his brace and extend the lead to 3-0.
His standout performance highlighted the depth and emerging talent within Didier Deschamps’ squad, even with several regular starters rotated. Colombia struggled to cope with France’s pace and movement, despite showing glimpses of attacking intent.
The South American side eventually found a consolation goal in the 77th minute through Jaminton Campaz, who capitalized on a late opportunity to reduce the deficit. However, it proved too little, too late, as France comfortably saw out the remainder of the match to secure a deserved victory.
Overall, France’s 3-1 win not only extended their strong run of form but also reinforced their status as one of the favorites heading into the World Cup.
With a blend of experienced stars and exciting young talents like Doué stepping up, Les Bleus appear well-prepared for the challenges ahead, while Colombia will look to regroup and refine their approach before the global tournament.
