Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez has officially taken the next big step in his football career after completing a move from Millwall to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. The 25-year-old attacker has signed a four-year contract with Brighton, bringing an end to his spell at Millwall and opening a new chapter at Premier League level. Azeez’s transfer comes after an impressive 2025/26 Championship campaign in which he established himself as one of the division’s most dangerous attacking players. He finished the season with 11 goals and eight assists in 37 league appearances, performances that earned him recognition in both the PFA Championship Team of the Year and the EFL Championship Team of the Season. A Record Move for Millwall The transfer is also a major financial boost for Millwall. Brighton are understood to have agreed an initial fee of around £12.5 million, with additional performance-related payments capable of pushing the total value beyond £15 million. The deal reportedly makes Azeez the most expensive player ever sold by Millwall. His journey makes the move even more remarkable. After leaving Watford as a youngster, Azeez worked his way through non-league football before earning his opportunity in the professional game with Reading. He later joined Millwall in 2024 and quickly developed into one of the Championship’s standout wingers. Super Eagles Rise Azeez’s club form also earned him his first senior call-up to the Nigerian national team. He made an explosive start to international football, scoring both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe on his Super Eagles debut. He followed that up with an assist in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Jamaica. Now, his move to Brighton gives the winger the opportunity to compete consistently at the highest level of English football. For Nigeria, Azeez’s arrival in the Premier League could provide another exciting attacking option as the Super Eagles continue to build for upcoming international challenges. From non-league football to the Championship, then to the Premier League — Femi Azeez’s remarkable rise continues. A new chapter begins at Brighton.
