AREWA FC - COACH ALIYU GARBA UBALE Kubwa Football League — Matchday 1 Arewa FC 3–1 Gozie FA Good evening, everyone. 1. How would you assess Arewa FC’s 3–1 victory over Gozie FA? It was a very good victory for us. To start the league with a win, especially as the defending champions, makes me very excited. The boys worked hard and deserved the three points. 2. What do you think changed the game in Arewa’s favour? When Moh’d came in, he changed the game completely. He brought a lot of energy and also scored the opening goal. I had already told the boys to remain patient because I knew the goals would come. 3. Your team scored three goals today. What pleased you most about the attacking performance? We played very well offensively. We created many chances, although we missed some early opportunities. Gozie also defended well, but I was happy with our attacking approach. 4. How important were the goals scored today? All the goals were well deserved and very beautiful. Each goal showed the quality and determination of the players. 5. What did you tell the players at half-time? I told them to remain calm and continue playing our football. I told them that if we stayed focused, the goals would come. 6. Gozie pulled one back through Rojo’s penalty. How did you react to that moment? I gave the boys confidence and told them not to panic. We also received a red card, which made the situation more difficult, but the boys stayed calm, showed character and went on to score two more goals to make it 3–1. 7. Are there areas you believe the team still needs to improve? Yes. We need to improve our finishing. We created some very good early chances, and we have to learn to convert those opportunities. That is something we will continue working on. 8. After starting the season with three points, what is your message to the supporters? More is still to come. I want to thank all our supporters for their support. We will continue working hard and do everything possible to retain the trophy. 9. What are your expectations for Arewa FC this season? Our target is clear: we want to win the trophy again. We know it will not be easy, but we will work hard, stay focused and fight for it from the first match to the last.
