🎤 KUBWA FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2026/2027 AREWA FC — PRESS CONFERENCE Q: As defending champions, how do you feel going into the new season? Coach Aliyu Garba: It is a big responsibility to win the Kubwa Football League, and defending it will be even more difficult. Nobody has retained the trophy before, so we know we have to work very hard if we want to make history. Q: How has your preparation been? Coach Aliyu Garba: Our preparation has been excellent. We played several competitions — we were runners-up in the Kubwa Unity Cup, won the LoveWorld Tournament in Bwari and the TipNGoal Tournament, reached the semi-finals of the Legency Competition, and finished runners-up in the Kubwa Champions Cup. These competitions prepared us well. Q: Do you have confidence in your squad? Coach Aliyu Garba: Absolutely. My boys are organised, motivated and doing very well. I have 100% confidence in them. Q: Are there any injury or availability concerns? Coach Aliyu Garba: Yes, we have some setbacks. Nazifi Yahaya, John Peter, Ishaku Alhassan and Nazifi Sambo will miss the opening match. Prograss and Yusuf are doubtful because of injury, while Ukasha is recovering from illness. We will assess them before the game. Q: What is your target this season? Coach Aliyu Garba: Simple — we want to do well and retain the trophy. To achieve that, we have to take every match seriously and keep winning. Q: How important are your supporters? Coach Aliyu Garba: Very important. Our supporters are one of the keys to our success. Their support gives the players confidence, and we need them with us throughout the season. Q: What makes the Kubwa Football League special to Arewa FC? Coach Aliyu Garba: It is a very important competition for us. We respect the league, and we are proud to be the defending champions. Q: Any final message to the fans and sponsors? Coach Aliyu Garba: We call on sponsors and football lovers to support grassroots football. Come and support the players and support Arewa FC. We are here to defend our trophy. Good football to everyone. ⚽🏆
