23h agoHjunt FC and DLK World Best FA meet in Week 4 of the Kubwa Football League with very different early-season stories. Hjunt picked up their first win of the campaign last time out and now look for back-to-back home victories, while DLK are still chasing their first win after three matches. Ahead of kickoff, Hjunt coach Samdada spoke to TipNGoal about injuries, home advantage and why complacency has no place in his squad.
HJUNT SEEK BACK-TO-BACK HOME WINS AS DLK CHASE THEIR FIRST VICTORY
1. TipNGoal: Whats the update on the team's Injury situation?
Coach Samdada: Apart from Rashford, who is ill, and Obum, who is battling an ankle injury, we have a healthy squad ready to execute the match.
2. TipNGoal: Your team got their first victory of the season. What can you say about it?
Coach Samdada: It was a strange start to the season, but our message to the players was to be hungrier. That determination helped us get our first victory.
3. Tipngoal: Your team's being playing back-to-back home matches. What's your take on it?
Coach Samdada: Our ground is going to be a difficult place for opponents to come. The players are waiting, and the fans are also waiting for our next opponent.
4. Tipngoal: Can your team Build on their last outing Momentum in the upcoming fixture?
Coach Samdada: We are working on some areas, and I am sure the team will keep improving.
5. TipNGoal: What's your approach on Facing DLK’s Goalkeeping Challenge?
Coach Samdada: DLK are a physical team with a good goalkeeper, but we will simply focus on our playing style.
6. Tipngoal: What's your take on Avoiding Complacency?
Coach Samdada: Complacency is not in my dictionary. Moreover, our season started last week!
7. Tipngoal: What's your take on your team's Defensive Organisation?
Coach Samdada: We are working tirelessly on our defensive organisation, and we hope to see the results on Saturday.
8. TipNGoal: Any final Message to Hjunt Supporters?
Coach Samdada: To the Hjunters, keep believing!
What it means for the table
Hjunt FC sit sixth with three points from three games and a goal difference of 0. DLK World Best FA are ninth with two points and a goal difference of -2, still without a win.
The middle of the table is tight, so this result matters. A Hjunt win would take them to six points, past Diamond Stars (5) and Uzum FC (4) and into the top four. A DLK win would lift them to five points and into the top half. A draw would leave Hjunt on four points and DLK on three.
The top of the table could also change this round. Leaders Arewa FC (7 points) face third-placed Runners FC (6), and Bonez FC (7) take on Uzum FC (4).
Coach Samdada has sent a clear message ahead of this Week 4 encounter: Hjunt FC are determined to build on their first victory and make their home ground a difficult place for visiting teams.
Despite a couple of injury concerns, the coach remains confident in his squad and is focused on improving the team’s performance. Meanwhile, DLK World Best FC will be eager to respond and secure their first victory of the campaign.
Can Samdada’s men secure back-to-back home wins, or will DLK finally claim their first victory?
